Starkville is buzzing with excitement as Mississippi State University (MSU) gets ready to celebrate the achievements of approximately 3,500 students slated to graduate in the spring of 2025! This year’s graduation events promise to be extra special, with a couple of new ceremonies added to the schedule to accommodate the growing number of graduates.
What You Need to Know About Graduation Schedule
Mark your calendars because the graduation excitement kicks off on May 15 and 16. Let’s take a closer look at what’s in store for our graduates and their families!
The first day, May 15, features two ceremonies at the beloved Humphrey Coliseum. In the morning at 9:30 AM, it’ll be the turn of graduates from the College of Arts and Sciences. They’ll walk across the stage, adorned in their caps and gowns, ready to embrace the next chapter of their lives!
Then, just after lunch, at 3:30 PM, graduates from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, College of Education, and the ACCESS program will take the spotlight.
Don’t Miss Out on Day Two!
The excitement continues on May 16 with more graduation celebrations! The College of Architecture, Art and Design and the College of Business graduates will have their moment in the sun at 9:30 AM. It’s bound to be a fantastic occasion as they receive recognition for their hard work and dedication!
Then, at 3:30 PM, a broader segment of graduates will bask in the glow of accomplishment, including those from Academic Affairs and such esteemed colleges as Engineering, Forest Resources, Professional and Continuing Studies, and Veterinary Medicine.
Additional Events You Won’t Want to Miss!
But wait, there’s more! Before the main graduation festivities really kick off, there will be special hooding ceremonies for our Ph.D. graduates, particularly those from the College of Veterinary Medicine and other university-wide Ph.D. recipients happening on May 13. Be sure to catch them at 11:30 AM in Humphrey Coliseum or 4:00 PM at Lee Hall’s Bettersworth Auditorium.
And let’s not forget about our local high school graduates! The Starkville High School Class of 2025 will also celebrate their achievements just a bit earlier on Friday, May 23, at 6:00 PM in Humphrey Coliseum. To make sure everything runs smoothly, the Starkville Oktibbeha Consolidated School District (SOSCD) will have a district-wide early release day on May 23 to ensure that extra staff are available for security and logistics during the high school graduation.
MSU-Meridian Graduation
For all the proud families over at MSU-Meridian, their graduation ceremony is set for May 14 at 11:00 AM at the MSU Riley Center, making May a month filled with celebrations across the board!
