Mississippi State University has honored students achieving academic excellence on the President’s List for the Spring semester. To earn this distinction, students must maintain a grade-point average of 3.80 or higher while completing 12 semester hours, with no incomplete grades. Among those acknowledged are Mackenzie Smith and Jillian Kelly, the latter graduating summa cum laude in Music Education. The university prepares for a commencement ceremony, celebrating the achievements of around 3,500 graduates showcasing dedication to academic success.
Starkville, MS – Mississippi State University (MSU) has recognized Mackenzie Smith from Wynne as a distinguished member of the President’s List for the Spring 2025 semester. To earn this prestigious accolade, students must achieve a grade-point average of 3.80 or better on a 4.0 scale while completing at least 12 semester hours of coursework. Additionally, students must maintain a record without any incomplete grades or grades lower than a C.
Alongside Smith, Jillian Kelly from Muscatine, IA, has also secured her place on the President’s List. Kelly is celebrated for her academic excellence, having graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Music Education from MSU’s College of Education. This recognition is part of a larger group of approximately 3,500 students who are expected to graduate from MSU this spring.
The university’s commencement ceremony is scheduled for May 2025, where MSU President Mark E. Keenum will serve as the keynote speaker. In his address, he will focus on themes of integrity, hard work, and respect, skills that he emphasizes as vital for future success.
