Starkville, MS — In a significant boost to their 2026 recruiting class, Mississippi State has secured a commitment from Jayden Cration, a highly regarded 3-star wide receiver from Canton, Mississippi. Cration made the announcement following a successful official visit to the university.

Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 185 pounds, Cration has made a notable impact in his high school career. Last season, he averaged over 23 yards per catch, accumulating 739 yards and scoring 16 touchdowns. His impressive performance has earned him an 88-overall rating by the 247 Sports Composite rankings, along with recognition as the nation’s No. 60 receiver and No. 14 prospect in Mississippi according to On3 rankings.

Reasons for Choosing Mississippi State

Cration expressed that he felt a strong sense of belonging during his visit to Mississippi State. The family atmosphere within the program resonated with him, and he found the visit enjoyable. He engaged in various activities, including games, socializing with current players, and meeting the coaching staff. He developed a good rapport with receivers coach Chad Bumphis and head coach Jeff Lebby, which further influenced his decision to commit.

Future Plans

With the start of the senior season approaching, Cration aimed to finalize his college decision early. He plans to continue focusing on improving his route running skills throughout his final high school year before enrolling at Mississippi State in May of next year. His commitment adds to a growing number of talented recruits for Mississippi State’s upcoming class, which currently includes notable names such as TE Zayion Cotton, RB Jaeden Hill, WR Camden Capehart, and WR Zion Crumpton.

Recruiting Landscape

Despite facing some scrutiny regarding the overall recruiting class for Mississippi State, many analysts believe the offensive skill talents, including Cration, are underrated. Following his commitment, Mississippi State has now secured 23 commitments for its 2026 recruiting class. The class is currently ranked No. 34 nationally and No. 7 in the SEC, showcasing a promising future for the program.
