Together, they raised a family that includes three children—Collin Smith, Jaison Smith (with his wife Whitney), and Stephanie Lewis. The couple’s love blossomed, resulting in four grandchildren and one great-grandson, little Jace Irvin Watkins, who was sure to have stolen Irvin’s heart. His family was his pride and joy, and his devotion to them was evident in every relationship he built.

Irvin was also a proud veteran, having served in the United States Army Reserves. His love for his country was matched only by his dedication to his work. He dedicated nearly six decades to Vulcan Asphalt as a sales manager, where he was known for fostering genuine relationships with colleagues and customers alike. He is survived by his devoted wife, Ann, children, grandchildren—Caroline McCreless (married to John), Sam Watkins (with Lauren), Taylor Smith, and Owen Smith—and many cherished nieces, nephews, and sisters-in-law, as well as his sister, Irene Greene.

Family and friends are invited to a time of fellowship and remembrance on April 24, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Southern Heritage Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Alcoholics Anonymous in honor of Irvin’s commitment to recovery and helping others.
