After marrying her husband, Robby Pounds, Zelda dedicated 67 years to their marriage, a partnership that reflected their deep love and commitment to one another. Sadly, Robby preceded her in death, but the memories of their life together continue to shine brightly. Zelda was also preceded in death by her father, Frank, her mother, Lanora, and her brother, Voight.

For many years, she worked alongside Dr. George Walker, an ophthalmologist, where her kindness and professionalism touched the lives of many patients. In 2015, as her husband’s health began to decline, Zelda and Robby moved to Magnolia, Arkansas. While their new home was away from Starkville, Zelda remained connected to her faith by becoming a member of Central Baptist Church in Magnolia.

For those wanting to pay their respects, visitation will be held at Welch Funeral Home located at 201 W. Lampkin, Starkville, MS, from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2025. Additional visitation will take place the following day from 10-10:30 a.m. An 11 a.m. graveside service is scheduled for Friday at Memorial Gardens Park, 9036 Oktoc Road, Starkville, MS.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Homebound Ministry at Central Baptist Church in Magnolia, Arkansas, to honor Zelda’s spirit of giving and caring for those in need.
