Dent was driving a Toyota Camry traveling south when his vehicle collided with a Cchevy Trailblazer operated by 68-year-old Charles Sanders from Racine, Wisconsin. At the same time, a third vehicle, a GMC Envoy driven by Dorothy Elizabeth Simmons from Lucedale, also collided with Dent’s Camry during the chaotic sequence of events.

Immediate Aftermath of the Collision

Despite emergency responders’ efforts, Dent was pronounced dead at the scene. The impact of the crash caused significant injuries among the other individuals involved. Charles Sanders, along with three passengers in the Trailblazer, was transported to nearby hospitals for medical treatment. Among the injured, two of Sanders’ passengers were airlifted to Tupelo due to severe injuries sustained in the accident. Simmons was likewise airlifted to Tupelo for urgent care following the incident.
